Orange Glazed Butter Cake

For butter cake:

Plain flour 3 cups

Baking powder ½ tsp

Baking soda ½ tsp

Salt 1 tsp

Sugar (grinded) 2 cups

Butter (embargo) 200 gms

Vanilla essence 1 tsp

Fruiti-O Orange Nectar ¼ cup

Eggs 5 units

Buttermilk ¾ cup

Orange peel 50 gms

For Orange Syrup:

Fruiti-O Orange Nectar ½ cup

Shangrila Lemon Juice 1 cup

Sugar ½ cup

For Glaze:

Icing sugar 2 cups

Fruiti-O Orange Nectar 2-4 tbs

Cinnamon powder 1 tsp

  • Preheat oven at 180°C
  • Grease and line the bottom of two 8 or 9 inch loaf pan with butter paper.
  • In a bowl, mix plain flour, baking powder, baking soda,salt, and orange zest.
  • Mix Fruiti-O Orange Nectar and buttermilk together
  • In a separate bowl, add cream, butter, and sugar, and vanilla essence. Now add eggs one at a time.
  • Add flour and buttermilk mixture and mix well. Divide the batter between the 2 loaf pans and bake for 45-60 minutes. When cakes turn golden in colour, insert a fork and check, it should come out clean.
  • Prepare the syrup. Mix Fruiti-O Orange Nectar, sugar,Shangrila Lemon Juice, cinnamon powder and stir gently till sugar dissolves. Remove from oven and bring it to room temperature.
  • When cake is done, take it out and brush the syrup generously on top of the cakes.
  • When cakes are completely cool, remove from the loaf pans. Prepare the glaze by adding icing sugar and 2 tbs Fruiti-O Orange Nectar. Add little amount of Fruiti-O Orange Nectar to have thick pourable consistency. Glaze is ready to pour on the cake. Let the glaze set and dry.Serve it cool.


Cover both cakes till glaze is completely dry. Store in a refrigerator.
